54 winemakers from the territory of the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance and beyond presented themselves with 59 varieties of wines at this year’s international wine exhibition “The Golden Wines of Alps Adriatic 2016”.
The awards for the winners were handed over by County Prefect Darko Koren during a ceremony at Hotel Picok in Đurđevac.
The title “Campion of the Exhibition” was a awarded to a late vintage Yellow Muscat from Josip Rajaković of Karlovac County (CRO) while 19 wines received gold medals, 33 samples silver and five wines were awarded with a bronze medal.
In the category of “Best Dry Wine” four white wines reached an identical score and after additional evaluation by the jury, the Graševina from Vesna Savić, from Koprivnica Križevci County (CRO) won the title. The best red wine was a Merlot from Major-Árva Borház of Vas County (HUN).
The event is co-financed by the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance and Koprivnica Križevci County, and aims to promote wine, winemakers and winegrowing areas in the member regions of the Alliance.
