From the 28th to the 31st of January 2015 the Ljubljana fairgrounds traditionally hosted the “Alpe-Adria Tourism & Leisure Show 2015”. This year, the fair’s focus was on active tourism such as trekking, cycling and fishing complemented by novelties such as river-surfing, SUP (stand up paddling) and urban sports. Regions from the Alps-Adriatic area but also from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vojvodina, Greece, Tunisia and Nepal presented their touristic potentials. This year´s Jakob Award for excellence and quality in tourism was dedicated to “New Interpretations of Local and Regional Dishes”. The expert committee chaired by Professor Janez Bogataj granted the Jakob Award 2015 to Business & Tourism School Daruvar in Bjelovar-Bilogora County/Croatia for their “Sweet Souvenirs” – the innovative offer of the town´s symbols in gingerbread and chocolates.
