On the 8th of October 2014 Carinthia´s Governor Peter Kaiser hosted the OPEN DAYS-side event “Alps-Adriatic Area – Strengthening integration through regional cooperation” in Brussels.
Together with President Debora Serrachiani from the Autonomus Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Valter Flego, president of Istria, Regional Minister Roberto Ciambetti from Veneto, Jasna Gabrič, Deputy Mayor of Trbovlje (Slovenia), Erich Korzinek, the director of the Styrian Brussels Office and Helena Matuša, Deputy Director of the Development Agency of the Croatian County Krapina-Zagorje the strength of our area as a crystallization point of European integration was impressively underlined.
In his function as current Chairman of the Alps-Adriatic-Council Governor Kaiser stated: “Many challenges that we face today cannot be solved effectively by individual regions alone. Our interest is to find common solutions in the fields of transport, environment, energy and infrastructure policy, the joint marketing of regional products or the positioning of the Alps-Adriatic area in the global competition. All these issues can only be tackled together with our neighboring regions.”
