The “Alps Adriatic Basketball Youth Cup 2023” has started with a 3X3 basketball tournament of young players and a forum on sports and basketball was organized in Koprivnica (Croatia) on October 7th 2023.
The tournament was held on the main city square and gathered a nice number of visitors, who had the opportunity to support four teams of young basketball players between the ages of 11 and 15 years. The young athletes were showing their skills in a 3X3 game on one basket. The most successful team were the “Watermelon Growers”, and behind them were the “Petals”, the “Daisies” and the “Smurfs”.
After the tournament a sports forum was organized in the Koprivnica City Hall. In interesting discussions, the participants exchanged their views on sports and basketball in rural areas, the role of sports in small amateur environments, the aspect of sports in fighting a sedentary lifestyle and the strategy of basketball development, among other topics.
Organizer was the Basketball Club Koprivnica, and the project is co-financed by the Alps- Adriatic-Alliance and Koprivnica Križevci County, with support of the City of Koprivnica and the company Podravka.
