On June 25th 2020 the Steering Committee of the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance (AAA) has met for its spring meeting which was held virtually due to the still ongoing Covid 19-situation. The meeting´s attendants were greeted by Varaždin County´s Prefect Radimir Čačić who is currently presiding over the Alps-Adriatic-Council. Twelve new project applications were unanimously approved. Among them is a project, which will deal artistically with the light pollution-problem in the Alps-Adriatic area, which becomes a growing challenge for human beings and wildlife in our part of Europe. This project will be handed in at the next call of the EU-Creative Europe Western Balkans–program. Another project, which became a tradition over the last seven years is the “Alps-Adriatic Golden Wine” competition and exhibition, which reaches out to winemakers throughout the Alps-Adriatic area, because there is not one AAA-member that does not produce wine. Other projects focus on entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, inclusion, cultural heritage and sports.
Of course, the current Corona crisis and possible interregional approaches in dealing with this situation where as extensively discussed as the ongoing process of regionalization in the Republic of Slovenia.
